The cabin was up in the mountains in a lot of trees and away from cilvalization, so it was really nice and quite there, except at night when the critters started scampering across the roof and dropping the nuts etc on the roof to roll off. It was a little spooky and not easy to go to sleep. Another thing that was hard to get use to was that they had an outhouse, Getting out to it with bushes scratching at you, and the thought of some critter being there in your path was really scarey at night and it was very very dark. Any little noise or movement would spook me.
The friends that let us use the cabin left us a bottle of Champaign, and some food, which was a nice surprise.
The stove I had to cook on was an old wood burning one and I did OK except for the biscuits which were rock hard. Trying to show off with a good meal sort of flopped on me, and I had hockey pucks for biscuits. It was a long time before that was not brought up.LOL
We kind of got bored and wanted to get back to town, so we didn't stay the whole week, but we did have a nice few days. Now I think it was kind of dumb that we left before the week was out, but we never looked back or said so either.
