Christmas Spirit

Christmas was different in Japan as there wasn't the decorating of the stores or the homes decorated, but we made it as special as we could. The second xmas we bought Davey his little car and he was so excited that he wanted to take it to bed with him. We had to have our gifts on xmas eve that year because Dad had dutyom christmas day, so the car went up beside his bed that night. The one funny thing that happened when we decorated for the holidays Dad wanted to do the outside with all the colorful lights like we do here in the states, and after he got them up MaMa-san came running over all upset as she thought we were running a brothal, so we had to take the lights down. Being she didn't speak any english it was impossible trying to explain , and she wasn't having any of it. The first two xmas pictures were the first xmas in Iwakuni and the other 2 the second year. the first year Davie recieved a lot of cars and trucks that were made there in Japan and later that dad Dad and the neighbor took the cars and trucks out and played with them in the yard. Poor Davie ended up with a couple broken cars because of it that had to be replaced. We discovered that the cars and trucks had been made out of our beer cans.
